Japanese classic literature returns to the modern streets!

'Yaoya Oshichi' is an acrobatic performance inspired by famous Japanese romance classics. Her dance is emotive, powerful, yet delicate, mysterious, and beautiful. The performance, featuring aerial and fire dance, expresses the heart of Oshichi, a vegetable vendor from traditional Japanese Kabuki and Bunraku puppetry.

The mime play 'When We Met Before' tells the stories of those who live with us. Through glimpses into the lives of social minorities and marginalized individuals, it portrays the strength to live life through kindness, compassion, and solidarity exchanged between each other.

Figures dressed in suits stand here and there, seeming like people.
They gradually move in response to the music: Suitmen.
Approaching silently, offering flowers shyly, and gesturing.

Wherever Mime Citizens appear, it becomes a festival ground. 'Suitman', inspired by mannequins, have been the main production of the Chuncheon International Mime Festival since 2017.
